Best programme for discounted flights
 

I am currently a BA silver and therefore have lounge access which is the most important aspect but have a question about discounted tickets and the best programme to join in ow.

I will be flying a lot on Iberia probably 12 trips all of 4 segments and all discounted. The earning rate on BA would only be 25% and no status, and IB doesn't look much better. Is there any programme that would beat AY 50% earning?

Last time I checked, QF offered 100% mileage on IB in all classes except "T". Status credits are earned at discount economy rates for everything other than Y. This was before the recent changes though, so might be outdated.

cpshawnie is correct, even with the recent changes to the Qantas FF Scheme, they will credit your IB flights with 100% miles and status credits for flights booked in the following classes: B,G,H,K,L,M,N,O,Q,R,S,V,Y.

The question about which FFP is good for discounted airfares really depends on which airline you are flying on the day and intend to fly in the future. QF is good with discounted flight credits when flying on their flight numbers. On the other hand, QF FFP only awards 25% of the miles when travelling on BA's Economy class.

If you provide more details of your itinerary and airlines that you are wishing to patronise, then we can provide a more clearer recommendations.

My main flying goes onto BD and I therefore look for * alliance wherever I can.

I have BA silver courtesy of some work flights which are domestic J so fine for status but not generating alot in terms of miles.

I have just bought a house in Spain and want to fly from LHR so IB is the most logical solution, and the cheapest. Putting the miles in BAEC seems a bit pointless when they only accrue at 25%.

Ryanair and Easyjet each have a couple of destinations in Spain. I guess these are not suitable?

Aside from the indifferent customer service on FR and EZ they both fly from Stanstead. LHR is 15 miles away STN is 70 miles away so what I would save on airfares would be lost in extra petrol/parking.
