OW Circle Pacific Fare Business Class

Hi all, seeking views on above using following itinerary:

syd/lax/jfk/hkg/cns/bne

I wish to keep within 22000 miles and will make my own way bne/syd.

All sectors except for jfk/hkg/cns will be QF.

I am QF silver presently. I reckon above itinerary (excl. bne/syd) will make 510 status credits to move me up to Gold.

Fare AUD6619 plus taxes.

Is it worth considering joining Asia Miles? Or, should I stick to QF?

Thanks for useful comments.

Have you checked to fully make sure that you are within the limit? As I try to do this and struggle to get it to 22,000 (But I am ex SYD)

Also just to let you know the HKG-CNS route will be on REGIONAL CX Business Class (330) which is actually really uncomfortable (they are actually WORST than the Dreamtime seats on QF) That is why I avoid the HKG-BNE/CBS routes on CX.

You can use QF on the LAX-JFK segment if you would like to. Otherwise, you can use AA.

Yeh, I am also showing about 400 miles over.

Pretty much if you are over by 1 mile they will NOT issue the ticket until you go to the next tier. My TA was speaking to the QF/CX/BA reps and they said no concessions are allowed.

The reason for this is that the SYD-JFK is pretty much a monopoly (with QF doing the onlt direct plane service) If people can get away with the 22,000miles fare (which is substantially LOWER than the normal fare of SYD-JFK-SYD) then everyone will just swamp in and ditch the direct QF fares.

This seems to be an alternative:

BNE-LAX-JFK-HKG-ADL for 21965 miles.

Means I take SYD-BNE on outward journey and ADL-SYD on return.

I will keep that in mind when I goto the USA after my DONE4.

But Beware that the HKG-ADL is NOT daily. However the good thing is that the aircraft = 3 class (therefore New Business Class)
