I was wondering what Class is the Oneworld Country Class book in Economy?

Also can you use this with the DONE4?

I think it costs quite a bit...more than a straight point to point ticket. Look at your other post for my reply. Booking class I believe is the same as an economy class RTW.. L class.

As for BA you have to book a return ticket to get those super cheap fares.

All I need in LHR-EDI-CDG-LHR
Therefore = around 290USD


Any suggestions if I don't use this what will be a better option.

Of course given the short timing of the flights, Y Class will be fine.

Well if you insist on LHR and BA then you might just get away with a couple of £70 returns on two separate tickets. If you went British Midland then you might get the same sort of deal. You could try BAs lower cost options by starting at LGW for the same routes. The key is trying to buy both return tickets together so that the change in LON and no extra tax applies. This might give you extra mileage or status points, depending upon your programme rules for discounted economy tickets.

I would be tempted to buy the two coupon minimum if you insist on the EDI to CDG direct as this is the killer price sector. I would then look at www.flybmi.com for the single ticket at low price on the London sectors or try easyJet from all other London airports for the LON EDI sector.

If you were really trying to save money, you might consider taking the overnight train from London sleeper service and thus save a hotel bill. That would then give you the two coupon EDI-CDG-LHR option.

The final option, marry someone with a staff discount and go standby.... :p

I think 290USD is not too bad, considering it is 3 seperate flights, and I do get the flexibility to change dates etc.... without have to worry about addtional charge.

Also as I am pretty tight on the schedule, I think flying direct to CDG from EDI can save some time and more time SHOPPING!!!!!

Also you cannot book those CHEAP fares on BA if you are overseas!
They require an UK Billing Address.

I check the same dates on the Aust. BA Site. and it gave me the full publish fare with NO CHEAP Options.

Also when used with the DONE4 fare I can agrue at the checkin counter to give me the same Baggage Allowance (2 pieace TOTAL 64KG vs 20KG!!!!)

I am sure I don't want to pay for the 44 extraKGs

Yes you can purchase those cheap BA fares.. just not on their website. You may book those same fares through any travel agency in Australia or through any travel websites.

This is true about yoru luggage though. If you have that much luggage to lug around, you are better off going for the Visit Europe fare which will cross ref this ticket to the RTW.

However, there is one thing you must bear in mind... although when you are permitted to travel worldwide based on the piece concept.. generally it is 35kg per piece, but recent events have cause some cities to only allow up to a maximum of 30kg per piece. Namely for airports in HKG, LHR and SYD.

But this changes entirely when you are travelling domestically within the USA. It does not apply when you get off from an international flight and with immediate connection.. but rather on a city pair when you do not connect to/from an international flight... on AA only, you are permitted a maximum of 50 lbs (22.72 kg)per piece only. You are allowed a heavier bag..from 51-70lbs (23-31.80 kg), but you must pay US$25. And another US$25 if your bag is above 70lb-100lbs (31.80-45.5kg).

Really?? Even in F Class???

On the ticket it just said PIECE concept apply so I thought you get 30KG.

I don't think I will pack more than 30Kgs per bag this time!! Before be more Discipline when i get to LHR and MXP!!!


I think I will still get the Visit EUR Pass as it has more flexibility as to which flights I can take and also more importantly CHANGES (if there are any delays)!!!!

I know I got my Centurion Insurance etc.... But is just a hassle.

I think 290USD is not bad at all, I mean even if you get LHR-EDI-LHR and LHR-CDG-LHR. That will be at least 160GBP. Therefore the savings are not that great.

UK bag weight limit
 

The health and safety policy which is being adopted across most UK airports is maximum 32 kg per bag. You will be asked to repack or buy another bag!

It is great fun watching the London to Nigeria flights try to conform to this rule. The max I have seen turn up is 270 kg!

YES. Domestic US/Canada travel is different from International overseas flights. So if you're just going from say LAX-DFW-YVR, the above policy applies. Oh.. and that's 2 checked in bags and 1 carry -on. If you have more than 1 piece of carryon and already 2 checked bags, you will be paying more. SOMETIMES AA turns a blind eye towards overseas visitors but generally, the above policy applies. .. YES EVEN FOR F CLASS passengers.

Sorry, I'm getting confused by this thread and my DONE4 planning.

So on a DONE4, do I get the 2x32kg bags even on the AA domestic flights (since I'm on an international ticket) or is it just 2x50lbs.

Also, if I was to add a Nth America pass or Europe Pass on (in econ) would I be getting 2x32kg on those flights too, or would they revert to the local custom (I guess 2x50lbs for AA and I think 22kg on BA).

Whilst the cost of the country passes may not be the lowest, it does seem attractive to have all the flights included on the one booking. Would give some comfort rather than racing for a connection to a cheap non-refundable/non-changeable flight. Do these really get put into the same ticket.....and not cause a problem re the 20 segment rule. That would seem to undermine the use of the 20 segment rule......

AA tends to be OK for F Class. I never got questioned before on the DONE4 before.
But I guess USD25 is NOT too bad.
