How is this xone6 possible?
 

After looking at the oneworld website and the online brochure regarding explorer tickets it shows an itinerary as below:
Los Angeles- New York- Shannon- Dublin- Glasgow- Manchester- London- Nairobi- Harare- Johannesburg- Hong Kong- Bangkok- Singapore- Jakarta- Perth- Broome- Alice Springs- Melbourne- Sydney- Buenos Aires- Santiago, Chile- Sao Paulo- Dallas
This clearly is not possible for numerous reasons. If they cannot get an example right how are we expected to get it right? ;)

It was correct in 2001 when all of the routes operated (now several are extinct, as you noted). The inclusion of Aerolinas Argentina makes it obvious that this is a stale example. They aren't very good about updating the web site as the rules and routes change. But using the current rules it isn't very hard to construct the correct example, albeit a few cities short.

So they can get the 20 sector limit and the date of update 1 April 2004 correct yet the example so wrong. :p
If you are going to update, do it correctly.
I only point this out as people who are new to oneworld explorer tickets may actually use this as a guide. :td:

Well SIN to Jakarta is a bit of a worry on this route without going via HKG as is the onward sector to Perth without going via HKG or SYD. I did the old SYD to Buenos Aires but now your only choice is to go via Santiago (and there is very little availability on this route for the booking classes used in the RTW ticket section) or the what the hell change in LAX et al without stopping in North America for the transit. My Santiago to Sao Paulo was a good sector. However, most of this route would be possible on a xONE6 route with the extra coupon purchase option.

I agree that the postulated route is a bit silly given the changes post 9-11 but it is a "global" alliance after all. Still you cannot do Westray to Papa Westray any more on 1W and that was a great two minute flight. Full fare domestic status points in economy for only GBP 8!

Not horribly important but CX flies SIN-JKT and Qantas JKT-PER.

Part of the general malaise of companies which realise they need to have a web presence but then don't keep the sites up-to-date. BA are even having to ask FT'ers to point out inaccuracies on its site, see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=334985

I tried using my OAG online last night and it didn't show the CX flight SIN to JKT. The CX on-line timetable did. Might have been the dates that I tried on OAG but I did do most of the week.

That is probably what got me on the JKT to PER as well as QF only do it twice a week on their pdf timetable. Would I want to wait around for up to four days for a flight, not convinced. I used to do the RTWs in max 14 days and sometimes 10.

Well it would appear that all of the routes are possible, now we have to start coupon counting and working out which extra sector coupons would be required. Ah what the hell, use your miles for GLA-MAN-LON.

I am not going to work out how many days it would take you to do this flight as the Broome to Alice Springs is only weekends as well.

Good to know that some of the more obscure flights are still around after the 9-11 cutbacks. Thanks for keeping me honest.
