Bradley Terminal, LAX - getting thru security
Two weeks ago, I flew BA F from Bradley terminal. There are two security lines. The one to the right is reserved for airline and security company employees. I was not permitted thru it even on showing my BA F boarding card. The security line at 2pm was like waiting for a top ride at Disneyland - zigged and zagged and took a very long time to transverse.
Yesterday, I flew LanChile F, going thru security at noon. LanChile handed me a laminated priority card that I gave to security, allowing me thru the right (employee) security line. This was excellent treatment by LanChile for pasengers in the front cabin. In the past two weeks, the security area has been redesigned. There are now 5 or so x/ray units for the left security lane; the right still has the one. Thus, people were moving quickly thru the main security line. |
I thought you can ask the check-in staff to give you an escort to the security line, who will allow you to cut to the front...?

I never had to ask, but CX just did it for me. I was EXP traveling to HKG in coach.

There are actually two entrances and two security areas. One to the right, one to the left. If lines are too long check the opposite side. There is an internal hallway between the two sides inside security.
Also LH never handed me a priority card, had me wait in line (Sen + First Class), CX escorted me a few times (AA EXP and F) when lines where really long. |

BTW, did LAN use a remote gate and, if so, did they provide a van for F and J pax? |

OT: LAN loads and deplanes from a door just behind business class. This keeps the first class cabin very quiet with no thru traffic. |

BTW, how full was F? If not full from LAX, did it fill-up in Lima? I am asking b/c I currently have the center seat reserved, but would prefer the window for the departure from LAX. Last time, I had 1A and was by myself for the LAX-LIM flight, but had a neighbor for the LIM-SCL leg (I do not like sleeping next to a stranger and, IMO LAN's divider b/w seats doesn't do much). Had I taken the center seat as my assignment, I could have enjoyed 1A from LAX and then switched to the center seat for the full segment. I am gambling on it not being full and me being able to grab the window from LAX and move to middle when it fills in LIM. |

LIM-SCL - 2 SCL-LIM - 4 LIM-LAX - 5 (one of the 4 from SCL-LIM had to move back to biz; he knew this on leaving SCL) And I agree - I don't like sleeping next to anyone (other than my husband). I chose the middle seat both directions, and did as you - moved to the window going south as there were only 2 of us in the cabin. |
Acually have to correct myself. On LH451 today in F (LAX-FRA). They handed me a priority card. Unfortunately (well, not really) only 2 persons in front of me at security.
