fare rule question / DONE3 /DONE 4 / DGLOBE 34
Hi,
can any one explain in short words what the different between DONE 3 / 4 and DGLOBE 34 fares. And is it possible as part of the routing .....LON-HKG-BOM-HKG-BOM-HKG-JFK....... Thatīs 4 segments within ASIA ; all stops longer than 24h. |
Done 3/4 are business class fares with 3 or 4 continents. 20 total flight numbers maximum, with 4 maximum within most continents. You can pay an extra fee to get up to 2 extra segments within a continent (still stuck at 20 maximum overall), so you could squeeze an extra hkg-bom in if you wanted.
I'm not as familiar with the DGLOBE34, but it's business class with 34,000 mile maximum. So this fare counts miles, while the other one counts flight numbers. They let you fly Air Pacific on this fare I think, which they don't on the OWE fares. I'm not sure if there is a restriction on multiple stops in a particular city on this one. |

Any idea if there are any more segments whch are more than 2000 miles and donīt count as intercontinental ? The last MIA-LAX should also be ok, as it is only a transfer for LAX-LHR. |
There are at least a couple of problems.
You can't do CAI-LHR and LHR-DXB. Only two segments are allowed LHR to the Middle East. Also you may have only one transcon in NA so can't do JFK-SFO and MIA-LAX. And yes LHR-HKG-BOM-HKG-BOM-HKG-JFK should be OK. |
In the northern summer, you can do ORD-ANC and DFW-ANC which are over 2000 miles and travel is in F when booked on DONE3/4.

That's because November isn't the summer! On DONEn fares you can only fly on One World metal, not code shares, so Alaska Airlines is not allowed. The AA flights to ORD continue until around the first week in October if I recall correctly (and to DFW they stop a couple of weeks earlier).

I was told that the Vietnamese government prohibited participation in any ticketing past HKG for this route. So it isn't Oneworld rules but rather the Vietnamese government rules that must change to allow ticketing.
