Which OW scheme for cheapo economy travel

I travel a lot on cheap economy tickets - mainly BA and Finnair. BA give you almost nothing for such travel so I always stay on Blue level. Is theer a better scheme to join to gain access to higher levels.

I am Star Gold as they do not punish cheap economy fares like BA do.

Any hints/advice would be welcome!!

American Airlines is a good option but BA still only awards 25% of miles on most economy/coach fares.

Well, i guess it depends on your travel patterns but i am with AA. I never travel BA if i can help it and found AAdvantage the easiest to get me to status levels.

What star gold are you? AAdvantage might status match you for the first year. I was UA Gold and got the match no problem.

SWISS Travel Club gives full miles whatever fare. Redemption is excellent too. Finnair's in the scheme, so is Malaysian and Cathay. Oh, and Air Ukraine

Trouble is, the scheme may not be long for this world....

... and this is one of the few schemes where miles expire even with continuing activity .

I contacted the AAdvantage office for the UK (thats where i live) with my UA Gold details. I faxed a copy of my card and statement along with a covering letter requesting a status match.

A search on the forum (I think i searched the term "Satus Match") will bring up the relevent posts with the contact details.

I don't know if it will work for SAS Eurobonus because unlike my UA Mileage Plus it's not a 'direct' competitor. Unless perhaps your statement shows frequent Transatlantic flights.. No harm in trying however. if you don't ask...
