Which is the BEST OneWorld Lounge you have visited and why?
I have only visited two
.... London Heathrow Terminal 5A Galleries Lounge South and Rome FCO and definitely FCO is bottom and Galleries South not much better! |
CX F The Pier, for the quiet and the timeless style in every corner.
JL F HND, for the sushi bar and the showers amenities -- loved it so much I ended up buying the products from Kose. |
QR Al Safwa First Class Lounge in DOH. There is a long thread on the QR forum that gets into the details. The bedrooms are a big plus if you have time to get one.

I'm looking forward to seeing the MCT F lounge next time I get an excuse to pass through MCT, hopefully sometime later this year. I was in the J lounge earlier this year and it was quite nice on it's own.
QF SYD F lounge is pretty good, but the only time I've been there it was packed, could barely find a place to sit down.

Also I like the JAL's Salon upstairs at HND or downstairs at NRT. Very nice Japanese whiskey and gin on offer. As well as premium non-alcoholic beverages for non drinkers. It's always a lot more peaceful than the main F lounge. It's kind of shocking there are so many Emeralds in Japan or passing through Japan, both F lounges get absolutely packed to the brim at some times of the day, though the NRT one is getting to be a lot better as more flights shift to HND.

I'm sure most of those emeralds are JL premiers... Think of all the JGC and their families.

Though strictly speaking it wasn't a OW lounge, I used to love BA's Concorde Room in JFK T7, especially when its cigar room was still open. The Chelsea in T8 is ok - good Champagnes - but otherwise could be a 4* hotel bar and restaurant in any major city.
The QF F lounge in SYD will always be a favourite for its design and view of the apron. Same design in the LAX one but no views. I also like the QF J lounge in SIN, though it can get crowded. The CX Pier (and F section of The Wing before it closed for refurbishment) are terrific. Also like the CX F lounge at LHR T3. I know everyone goes on about the QR lounges in DOH. I'm not a huge fan, though I do like its premium lounges at LHR T4 and SIN. Surprised the op doesn't like the BA lounge at FCO. I think it's one of the better ones. The LHR T5 BA F lounge and CCR are ok, with the huge plus of F Wing check in and security. I also like the AY Platinum Wing at HEL. I've never used the sauna but which other airline lounge in the world serves reindeer burgers? |
For me, it is CX F Pier lounge. It is what a lounge should be. It is relaxing even when it is busy. On top of that it is in a great airport. Love it.

Not having access to First Class lounges, I'd have to say the CX Pier Business lounge at HKG. My family of four had a relatively long layover and were able to enjoy the noodle bar and other foods, drink to our content, have showers and nap on the sofas at the back. As stated by mcgahat, a very relaxing place to spend a few hours.

From 20+ years ago, my one and only visit to the original Concorde Room. Lavish food and beverages plus the concord plane parked at the end of lounge. I like JL HND 1st for the red room in the back and the tarmac views. All of CX lounges are great. Lastly, AA's JFK FFD room before it was enhanced away.

You'd think that OW would do a better job of showcasing its member lounges in its Lounge Finder tool.

While it's definitely quite nice and belongs to a oneworld airline, it's actually not a oneworld lounge in terms of access. You have to be flying F or be a QRPC Platinum on a paid business ticket to access. But it is certainly amongst my favorites. For me personally, MH F in the satellite is very nice, usually having a staff to pax ratio of 2:1. As others said, CX F is very nice, cabanas in the Wing first, then massage in the Pier next. JL F has free shoe shines. Also the BKK QR lounge is fantastic. Good food and great ambiance despite its small size. |
