Is is pricing as *GLOB* (34,000) and not a *ONE* https://www.oneworld.com/world-travel Are D class business available for the main flights? Or just L economy If you replace LON = LHR what happens?TYO = NRT Any transits not in your schedule? TYO-JKT-SYD-BNE-DFW-MIA-LON-AMM-MAD-JED-AMM-LON-KUL-TYO = 41,604 miles 13 segments A map from the Great Circle Mapper - Great Circle Mapper TYO-JKT-SYD-BNE-DFW-MIA-LON-AMM-MAD-JED = 28,699 miles for your first 9 segments http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=c%3Ablu...=bm&PW=3&DU=mi No idea where OW's 9 segments 36,481 miles is coming from. An error somewhere |
The itinerary has five flight segments in Europe/Middle East
And four stopovers there ...LON-xAMM-MAD-JED-xAMM-LON... This is valid on a Global Explorer but is invalid on a Oneworld Explorer The First or Business class Global Explorer has a maximum mileage of 34,000 The itinerary exceeds this So the itinerary is invalid |

My only other bit would be why RJ for LHR-xAMM-MAD and not QR LHR-xDOH-MAD? On RJ the MAD flight is an A320 with recliners and the AMM lounge is nothing special at all (for that matter the 787 from LHR is also nothing special at all). With QR you'd get widebodies on both flights and the Al Mourjan lounge in DOH. |

I'm sorry, typo in my initial post. Medina in Saudi, not Madrid in Spain!!! If you could cast your collective wise-eyes over the above, I'd be grateful!! |

Could be wrong but I understood MAD / JED as a surface segment which should make it valid for a DONEx. Also makes sense since IB doesn't fly to JED and the OP didn't indicate any connection getting there.
Ah, yes. I didn't spot that. So a Valid DONEx :tu: Are any segments giving you economy only instead of business? That can cause pricing issues in the tool. Yes this causes a problem in the tool. It shouldn't but it often/always? does. |

Still the same as post 3?
Then there will be four flight segments in Europe/Middle East and the itinerary will be a valid Oneworld Explorer. |

If the MED-JED segment is a surface segment (and I'm 99.9% certain no Oneworld airline flies it)
Then there will be four flight segments in Europe/Middle East and the itinerary will be a valid Oneworld Explorer. Yes Medina to Jeddah would be a surface segment. Presumably a OW Explorer is a lower fare than a RTW fare? What booking class is a OW Explorer (Business) booked in please? Any tips on a resource for booking? |

Any tips on a resource for booking? I think AA's RTW desk is your best booking source for this itinerary, you can find the phone number in some of the dedicated RTW threads. (Edit: Found the number: +1-800-247-3247, free call from Skype) I think you're doing yourself a huge disservice taking RJ to / from the middle east vs. QR. Not sure your experience in business on either airline in the past but RJ is not even close to the level of QR by any stretch of the imagination. The 787 to / from LHR is 2-2-2 config, quite outdated style, food is passable but not great, AMM lounge leaves much to be desired. QR on the other hand has 4x 77W flights per day that are most likely QSuites, and the other two are A380, older style seat but still much much better than RJ's 787. The middle east flights to / from JED and MED are treated as First Class on QR meaning you get access to the Al Safwa First Class lounge both directions, it's quite a nice experience in itself. If you were stopping over in AMM that would be understandable but transiting really doesn't make a lot of sense with QR's hub so near to your destinations. On an ex-TYO itinerary YQ doesn't come into play, but if you continue to build these in the future from other departure points, QR also has lower fees than RJ. On ex-TYO I doubt it would make much of a difference since you only pay YR from there. Similarly on that LHR-KUL, I'd strongly recommend MH over BA. Unless you get the new Club Suite, BA's seat is god awful (It's a 789 on that route and I think they're all still the old seat). MH is on the A359, and food and service is easily better than BA's. Added bonus, MH departs T4 and the QR lounge would be open during both departures. I think on the KUL-NRT it's a toss up. JL and MH depart within an hour of each other, MH's A350 seat is nicer than JL's 767 seat but some people like the JL service. With AA I earn a lot more more miles on JL so I end up taking that flight but nothing wrong with MH on that route. |
Does it make any difference if you change JKT to CGK?
