Asia before Australia required on a oneworld Explorer?

I have put a RTW itinerary together which goes from Europe to Perth via Doha, a few stops in Australia/New Zealand and then onto Asia before heading back to Europe via North America (I could get this priced via the oneworld Explorer web site).

I called BA for a price and they have got back to me stating that a round the world trip has to be in a continuous forward direction and that I need to travel to Asia first, before I travel to Australia. My understanding is that Asia and South West Pacific comprise of TC3 and I don’t think it matters which way you go ("Travel must be in a continuous forward direction between TC1 - TC2 - TC3.). Have I missed something?

I'm quite certain I've priced similar on the OneWorld site before, which means its valid. Try HUCA with BA.

Yeah, this is wrong. The rules don't mention anything about north-south travel, just east-west. If it comes up again you might mention that the rules actually state that DOH-PER is considered "via Asia" for continent pricing: "Travel between South West Pacific and Europe/Middle East on a single flight number/or by surface eg LON-SYD/MEL/PER vv, DOH-ADL/AKL/CBR/MEL/PER/SYD vv, is considered travelling via Asia. Continents South West Pacific, Asia and Europe/Middle East must each be counted."
The rules also state that 2 entries in Asia are permitted, so something like LAX-NRT-SYD-AKL-HKG... should be allowed as long as the first entry is just transit to SWP.

The requirement that one visit be a transit was removed from the rules some years ago.
Now both visits can have stopovers.
