Lounge access with infants
Do airlines count infants (under 2) as guests in Oneworld lounges. I know the rules on children vary between airlines vary was hoping it might be standard for infants. I ask as I'm planning to gift two OWS memberships to a family of five, comprising 2 adults (with OWS), one child (age 4, no status), two infants (18 months, no status). I'm keen to know if this will work..?
The lounges would be QF then QR and then BA. Many thanks. |
In the past I approached BA agents with my wife and infant daughter and started "I know I am only allowed one guest...". Before I stopped talking they just replied "I don't think she'll eat much anyway" and let us all in.

Hi,
I think with BA infants under 2 are not counted towards your limit Regards TBS |
Many thanks. That's really helpful to know.

oneworld Lounge Access for Infants and Children Infants under 2 years will not be counted as a guest when travelling with an eligible adult customer |
I have never had an issue bringing an infant in when I/we have been eligible on American, BA or Iberia - all without comment or question.
Now as soon as they turn two it is a different story and becomes much more difficult given the +1 requirement. So far I have been about 75% but it certainly causes stress and uncertainty. I frankly think that two is the wrong age for these sort of cutoffs but that is a can of worms that I am hesitant to open as there is obviously no "right" age and any age will make certain people unhappy. I would like it if airlines made it a little easier to have a nice traveling experience when traveling with family as right now the rules are set-up for business travelers not people who use the benefits when traveling with their families. |

It is a oneworld policy. If the receptionist has doubt, show him/her this: https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges

By 2 kids require there own seat and can thus earn their own status.
QF is particularly generous on the kid front, with them not counting as guests until 18. |
