Keep alive QF freq fly - far less points?
As part of a compensation from QF I received 15,000 freq flier points this year. The account had been dormant for years as I use BAEC. This year I am going to get back to Silver (OW Sapphire) on BA but I want to keep the QF points alive by making some small deposit within the 18 months.
I'm doing a cheap LHR-JFK return on BA later this year in Y, booked in O class. If I credit these to BA I get around 3500 points and 40 TPs. No chance of getting BA Gold so thought I'd look at crediting QF instead. According to the QF calculator, I will get just 1600 points and 50 status credits for this booking. Can someone please tell me how that converts? Is it that QF points are worth roughly twice what BA miles are worth in what they can redeem? |
The miles/points/avois of different ffp's are not equal or a set ratio.
QF is not generous when earning on other airlines. Generally if it was a QF flight would earn more. The cost to burn is not the same.
