OUtside of T-80 on 73H then rows 4 and 5 may be selected by:

Internationally:WP, WP1, CL

Domestically: WP1, CL

Note that since December on 330 international flights, the first two rows have been blocked for WP preselection.

I remember selecting row 4 with platinum status a week before departure on a SYD-MEL flight late 2016. That was a domestic flight on an international ticket so perhaps benefited from the international access?

On Monday I flew DFW-xSYD-MEL and the SYD-MEL segment did not have rows 4-5 available for selection on booking last year.

Certainly domestically, the row 4 and 5 blocking for WP has been around basically since the introduction of Altea with QF.

Note there were several short lived periods where the web site would allow less restricted access to seating but these appeared to be 'glitches'.

I managed to grab 1A a week ahead of a domestic flight I had on Tuesday. Usually the first row is blocked for me as a non-QF elite.

Yes. At T-80 (3 days plus 8 hrs) more QF seat allocations become available.
But keep looking after this, as people shift around, change flights, what ever.

Reviving this threat - One world Emerald, having to fly QF to BNE as NZ is full!
Can't see any decent seats on QF142 leaving July 17th - should I be able to see at least some premium seating?

Apologies, I cannot understand any of the abbreviations here (CL?) WP1 (platinum one QF?)

Thanks
