You'd also need to return to the mainland in order to connect to London as there's no Oneworld (or anybody's) service - yet - between Hawaii and Europe. And while JAL has flights to Honolulu and Kona from Tokyo, you'd have to rearrange your Asia segments so that you don't exceed the limit of four sectors in the continent. Remember when putting RTWs together you have to count every flight whether or not it's a connection or a stopover. Have a look at his route instead - JNB-HKG-DPS-HKG-CTS-NRT-HNL,OGG-LAX-LHR-KEF-LHR-DOH-WDH-JNB. This would meet the criteria for a 4-continent RTW. You could fly on your own between Honolulu and Maui. |

Heads up though. Even the amazing AA RTW agents have a hard time finding the one stop flights. If you decide to do that, you may have to force the issue with them and be confident in your voice saying the flight does exist as flight number 108 between hnl and lhr with a stop in lax...

Is AA108 from HNL to LHR bookable ?
Even aa.com doesn't show a direct flight (availability), rather shows AA108 to AA108 connection. expertflyer.com also shows AA108/AA108 conections. IMHO, AA108 from HNL to LHR wasn't filed into GDS. By the way, can we book AA145 DFW-ANC-DFW as one segment ? :-) If you want to look for odd flights, on 1st January 2017, JL1711 from HND to HND was operated. JL2911 from NRT to NRT was operated. |

I used multiple of through flight numbers with my previous RTWs to minimize the segment usage. Even booked it other way, AA109 LHR-HNL as one segment. The ticket was issued by QF. And my previous AA ticketed xONEx included also some through flights. Many of those showed up in EF as a connection, but was sold as one segment. IME if there is different equipment on the legs, it will show up as connection in EF, if it's same equipment code then it will mostly show up as through flight.
