Who has managed most miles out of the 20 segments?
I'm just planning to start my 2004 travel and wondered who had managed to get the maximum miles/points out of a RTW ticket?
Routing would be interesting also! |
I found a 6-continent itin that earned 86k miles; but not possible now as the seasonal flights to ANC have stopped. Lots of open-jaw/surface segments though
Routing was: LHR-MCT-LHR,ZRH-SFO,LAX-EZE,SCL-CCS-SCL-CCS-SCL,EZE-LAX-SJU-DFW,CUN-ANC-DFW,JFK-SYD,MEL-AKL-HKG-KHI-HKG-JNB,CPT-LHR [This message has been edited by hauteboy (edited 10-26-2003).] |
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">...,CUN-ANC..</font> Or was it 2 flights ? |
hauteboy,
Despite the open-jaw/surface segments, that is still an impressive itinerary. |
uhh, good work...
|
CUN-ANC was a direct flight, via STL (same flight #) so only counted for one segment.

This is a great itinerary. I recently scheduled the following for a 5 continent trip....NRT-HKG-JFK-LAX-ORD-SJU-ORD-LAX-SCL-xLAX-LHR-TLV-LHR-SYD-PER-MEL-AKL-HKG-SIN-HKG-NRT. I had to to some business. The key to to mileage was to go from SCL-LHR via LAX

Anyone got any suggestions on the best ex-Europe itins?
|
Here's one I did (still doing) on an AONE5:
GIB-LHR-SIN-MEL-ADL, SYD-PER-AYQ, ASP-MEL-JFK, PHL-PHX, LAX-JFK, BOS-SJO-JFK, ORC-ANC-ORD, JFK-SCL, ANF-SCL-GRU-GIG-GRU-SCL-EZE-MIA-LHR-GIB. Not sure of the mileage and it isn't the most efficient I know (I didn't use any of the Asian sectors), but it was enough to put me through BA Gold another year, renew AA Plat, and then renew Gold again for the following year. |
Please add suggestions ex CAI for 4 or 5 continent OWEs without ground segments! Thank you in advance. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I put the below 4cont itn together for next year. Not 100% sure yet that it's valid but it should pile up around 61k miles.
Note that JFK-YVR-HKG and SYD-BKK-LHR are counted as one segment due to one flight number. CAI-LHR-LAX-SJU-DFW-YVR-DFW-CUN-JFK-YVR-HKG-BOM-HKG-NRT-HKG-AKL-MEL-PER-AYQ-SYD-BKK-LHR-CAI [This message has been edited by NoWindowSeat (edited Nov 17, 2003).] |
Well, I didn't use all of the 20 segs, and it's only a D0NE3,
BUT I'M PROUD OF MY FIRST PAID RTW http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif : CAI-BCN LON-LAX-ORD-DFW-CLE-DFW-LAX-JFK-HKG-NRT-HKG-CMB-HKG-LON-DXB-LON MAD-CAI =47156 Also, ORD, DFW, CLE, LAX, HKG and DXB are places I actually have to visit for business reasons http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif ... Any comments? |

In the same way HKG-BOM stops in BKK, but you can't get off there either. |
christep, fully understood that part of the rules and no stopovers at those locations....now the only worry is how much they're going to raise the prices as I have no chance to go to CAI before March to pick it up....in coach such a trip is unbearable, atleast in the short time period I have to make it...
