Circle Pacific
Hello.
I have some basic questions re: Circle Pacific. I've read all the applicable posts and tried to make sense of the starfiles. But a few things still elude me. Due to limited time (and budget) the itin looks something like this: ORD-PPT PPT-AKL AKL-SYD SYD-ORD here are my questions: 1. Is PPT valid for Circle Pacific? If not are other destinations in the south pacific valid? 2. Can anyone recommend going through AA (or another airline) rather than a travel agent. So far my dealings with the RTW desk have been spotty 3. This itin is a little short of 20,000 miles. Keeping under the 22,000 threshold (and the stopover rules) are there any suggestions for additions. Thanks very much for the comments. Charles. |
From memory (and without looking at the rules), there must (should?) be a sector in the North Pacific. You don't have one. Also, I'm not sure you can use PPT since it involves QF codeshare on TN. Basically, I think you have to use LA SCL-AKL/SYD; QF SYD/MEL/AKL - LAX (or HNL then AA to LAX etc); and/or CX to HKG or AA to NRT. A routing such as SYD AKL LAX DFW YVR HKG SYD is legal (and under 22K miles).

Thanks for the info but I guess I still need a translation still. Sorry. One directions must include Chile? 147N . * TRAVEL ON ANY QF/AA/AX/CX/BA/LA/LP/AY CODESHARE 148N . SERVICE OPERATED BY QF/AA/AX/CX/BA/LA/LP/AY IS 149N . PERMITTED. OTHER CODESHARE SERVICES NOT 150N . PERMITTED. This seems to exclude Air Tahiti Nui. Are they not the only oneworld carrier that goes into PPT? Thanks again for the help. Dont know where Id be without Flyertalk. Charles |

They operate a QF codeshare to PPT that is allowed on a Global Explorer fare but not the Circle Pacific fare. |
Thanks so much for the help. I guess I'll start looking into the explorer fares.
