OWE ex SIN

There seems to be a considerable saving to be made by buying an AONE or DONE in SIN rather than in Aus at the moment. About 20% at current fares and exchange rates. i.e. AONE4 ex Aus AUD13269, ex SIN SGD12397 (about AUD10300). J works out to about AUD7500 instead of AUD9169.

Does anyone have any advice as to how to go about it, a SIN agent to use, or a suggested itinerary to maximise an intended holiday trip to Europe as far as mileage and SCs go, with QFF? I'm trying to retain Gold, and perhaps go a stage further.

AKL would appear to be another good place to start, and a great deal easier to organise, but nowhere near as cheap as SIN.

While you're in SIN, maybe you'd want to consider BKK as it's MUCH cheaper than SIN.

Book through the airlines and ticket it there that way. Travel agencies tend to want you to pay by cash with the exception of American Express Travel.

If you can get a cheap flight to Cairo the RTW fares will be even less. Search through this site for information, but BA is a very good way to go. They even print the tickets, rather than writing them by hand.

Would BA be the right airline to book with even if I live in the US and am not a member of BA FFP, and oneworld status is on AA?

I think Oz to BKK is a lot nearer than to go all the way to CAI just to save a few bucks! In the end the fare is going to cost more by the time you add the Oz to Cairo fare!

You can book with BA CAI or the AA RTW desk. AA has an agent in CAI that can ticket you. After booking with BA and going through a bunch of reissue problems, next time I'm going back to AA. Others have not had any problem with BA bookings. Either will do the job. The AA RTW desk may be a bit more convenient for you to work with as this is your first RTW and they are easily available to answer your questions.
