Baggage allawance on one world explorer?
I have a segment from Madrid to Cairo on Iberia. I asked about the baggage allawance, was told 20 Kilos. I explained to the agent that this is on a 4 continet ticket were the allawance from North America to europe is 64 kilos (2 pcs). She did not seem to know much about what I am saying.
Does any one know how it works? I am entitled for 64 kilos right through the trip or once you enter a region you are bound by the luggae allawonce rule between the two cities? Thanks |
You are entitled to the piece rule.
Check this for a more comprehensive explanation. http://www.oneworld.com/partner/baggagepolicy.cfm |
Agreed. It's the Piece rule, and this should be explicit on your ticket - all OWE I have had, whether hand or machine written have said "2 Pcs" in the "allow" box

Thanks guys, I checked my ticket and it does not say how many pcs. they did not fill it in i guess.
I had my ticket reissued once and both the original and teh reissued ticket are blank. I have to reissue the ticket anyway. Should I ask teh agent to indicate it? . and if I have a hard time (since some times the agent does not know the rules on OWE what should I do? thanks again |
Yes - make sure the reissue shows the baggae allowance - very strange that twice it has not been shown. When you go to get the reissue done take a copy of the fare rules with you. Go here:
http://www.hardlink.com/~markdu/OWFi...eExplorer.html and print them out. The baggage rule is near the bottom. |
Thanks guys,
Just got my ticket rissued. This time the 2 pcs are written on all the segments. I think, the agent did not know that there was a box where she can write down the pcs?? She was not sure, anther agent pointed out to her where to do it. I think without flyertalk travel would be difficult keep the good work http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif cheers |
