RTW Newbie

Where can I find current prices for RTW out of India?

If I plan 4 Continent - Asia, Australia, South America, North America, does the flight from Chicago - Bombay with change of plane (and carrier) in London legal?

Here are my plans

BOM-HKG-NRT-SYD-EZE-ORD-BOM.
Any thoughts how I can maximize this? I am constrained by time...

It becomes a 5-continent ticket when you transit through London.

It isn't possible to do a RTW routing without including at least one of (Africa or Europe) and at least one of (N America or S America) and at least one of (SW Pacific or Asia).

These being the IATA zones TC1, TC2, TC3.

One World Circle Pacific Fare covers North America, South America, SWP, and East Asia.
Unfortunately, it does not cover India.
Thailand(BKK) is west boundary.

Thanks to all....it is good information to start with. I think I will try 4 continent starting in BOM (or CMB). Any thought on how I can maximize following itinerary -

BOM-HKG-NRT-SYD-LAX-ORD (2 Month Break)
ORD-LHR-BOM

AS you cane see I definitely need help with latter segments of the trip.

Thanks

Maximise in what sense? And what are your time constraints?

PrudentBear, you may also want to state your goals and constraints. Are you shooting for high base mileage, upgradeable segments on your favorite carrier, tier points - etc.?

For example, you have a lot of unused segments and can use them in each area (several in SWP, the full 4 in Asia, the ones in Europe). Look at some of the sample itineraries and guidelines posted by others in earlier threads. The core strategies have been the same with OW RTW (maximize on long segments) as opposed to * RTW.

For example on return to BOM or CMB, you can use LHR-HKG-CMB/BOM instead of LHR-BOM. Are you able to trade-off travel time for extra miles/tier points (the core principle of RTW mileage runs)?

I apologize for being vague in my posting...
Goals: maximize base miles (AA Advantage)
Time constraints: BOM-ORD leg 1 week, 2 months in Chicago, ORD-BOM leg 1 week.
I have come up with following itineary -

BOM-HKG(overnight)-NRT-SYD(overnight)-PER-BNE(overnight)-AKL-LAX-ORD
ORD-LAX-MIA-LHR-HEL(overnight)-FCO(overnight)LHR-DXB-LHR-HKG-BOM

I am planning on this trip in business Class. Approx. 50,000 status mile.

Thanks

You have five segments in Europe, so the fifth would cost extra. Without checking the schedules I would say something like this would be a lot more miles:

BOM-HKG-KHI-HKG-AKL-MEL-PER-SYD-JFK-BGI-JFK-BGI-JFK-SFO-LHR-IST-LHR-DXB-LHR-HKG-BOM

which is 64497 miles (although you'd need a side ticket to get to ORD).

And in the summer you could do:

BOM-HKG-KHI-HKG-AKL-MEL-PER-SYD-JFK-SFO-ORD-ANC-ORD-SFO-LHR-IST-LHR-DXB-LHR-HKG-BOM

which is 65536 miles.

Or for a 3 continent

BOM-HKG-KHI-HKG-JFK-SFO-DFW-ANC-DFW-ORD-SFO-LHR-IST-LHR-DXB-LHR-HKG-BOM

for 53419 miles.
