ONE4 date change of first sector

Just to confirm what I have read in previous posts (through search):

Once MONE4 ticket is issued, can one change the date of the first sector? If so (as I believe) does that change require a re-issue or can the traveller simply turn up at the airport with the original coupon after having changed the date on the resveration (on the phone with QF).

I know for a fact that date changes for subsequent changes can be made any time over the phone and this does not require a re-issue - simply present coupon at check-in and that is sufficient as long as date was changed in the reservattion record. Is this also the case for the first sector?

No. A date change on the first sector requires a ticket reissue (but without charge).

The date change on the first sector (only) will cause any new rules to kick in (such as the 20 segment limit, or the changed booking classes on some airlines). Sometimes it is very important to keep the first segment unchanged (you can change subsequent segments without this impact).

Right got it. Rules are not an issue - it's a newly ticketed ONE4. But due to visa wait departure ex-Aus may be delayed awaiting visa so just wanted to clear whether can go straight to airport or have TA re-issue ticket once departure date is known.

Thanks for the info.

In principle you could just get the TA to change the reservation date and then get the airline ticket desk at the airport to reissue the ticket prior to the first segment. Allow 30 mins to do this, but might be easier than getting the TA to do it.

Unless it's the T4 flight connections BA desk at LHR, in which case allow 3 hours and expect to be ripped off an extra 25 quid (in addition to the USD75).
