Egypte prices

HELLO

I'M STILL WORKING ON THE RWT TOUR AND I ALREADY HAD SOME CONTACTS WITH EPT TOURS IN CAIRO BECCAUSE IT SHOULD BE CHEAPER WHEN I LEAVE FROM CAIRO . THE PRICE THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN SEEMS MORE OR LESS THE ONE I HAVE TO PAY IN BELGIUM FOR THE GLOBAL EXPLORER 34000 MILES

CAN SOMEBODY CONFIRM THIS OR DO YOU HAVE OTHER EXPIERENCES
SENDING THE TICKET TO EUROPE IS NOT A PROBLEM IT IS GOING WITH A PRIVATE COURIER

THANKS WHALESHARK

Afaik only OWE prices have been tossed about in this forum. If you look back just a few days you'll find a thread in which they're mentioned again. (The topic may well be something about Thailand.) In any case, a bit less than USD5000 buys an AONE4 ex Egypt, but the Global Explorer pricing may be vastly different.

Here are the GE fares ex-CAI. They are quoted in Egyptian Pounds and converted to € at today's exchange rates..

AGLOB34 EGP29150 €4186
DGLOB34 EGP23320 €3349
MGLOB34 EGP12000 €1723

HI
DOES ANYBODY KNOWNS OTHER REALIBLE TOUR AGENTS IN EGYPTE TO BUY THERE RTW TICKETS OR CAN YOU BUY THEM WITH THE AIRLINES COMPANY THEMSELVES LIKE IBERIA

I'm TRYING WITH PANORAMA TOURS BUT OR LOOKING FOR OTHER POSSIBILYTIS

THANKS WHALESHARK

ExMo Jul 29, 2003 6:43 am

Buy them from the airline. Several FT'ers have bought from BA, although there is no reason you couldn't buy from IB if you are originating on them from CAI.

whaleshark Aug 1, 2003 7:51 am

do you also known the prices for an oneworld 4 continents departing from cairo

it seems i have to many miles when i incluud the pacific region using the G.E

in an oneworld this is :

cairo-madrid-santiago de chile

punta arenas-falklands return

santiago-papeete

papeete-perth (transit sydney)

sydney - uluru (ayers rock)

cairns - johannesburg (africa)

durban - london - brussels

Here are three different routings, with fares, for you to choose from. They differ primarily in starting locations. In the CAI origination you will need to buy a separate ticket LHR-BRU (or BRU-BCN) as you are limited to four segments in Europe on the OWE ticket.

You will note that I have dropped PPT from the itineraries. We've had this discussion before. You cannot go from PPT to SYD (or AKL) on a OWE ticket. If you must go to PPT then you can buy a return ticket from AKL on NZ for about €800 and an additional €100 for the stop in AKL as it adds a fifth segment in SWP (i.e. SCL-AKL//PPT//AKL-SYD)

CAI-BCN-MAD-SCL-PUQ-MPN-SCL-SYD-PER-AYQ-CNS-SYD-JNB-DUR-JNB(or CPT)-LHR//BRU-BCN(or LHR)-CAI
4 Continent-Economy €1,523
4 Continent-Economy EG£10,450

BRU-MAD-SCL-PUQ-MPN-SCL-SYD-PER-AYQ-CNS-SYD-JNB-DUR-JNB(or CPT)-LHR-BRU
4 Continent-Economy €2,400

LHR-MIA(or MAD)-SCL-PUQ-MPN-SCL-SYD-PER-AYQ-CNS-SYD-JNB-DUR-JNB(or CPT)-LHR
4 Continent-Economy (High Season) €2,179
4 Continent-Economy (Low Season) €1,893
4 Continent-Economy (High Season) £1,519
4 Continent-Economy (Low Season) £1,319

hi to exmo and the others

STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ROUTING

IT SEEMS ALL THE SEATS IN THE M CLASS ARE FULL WHEN I WANT TO FLY FROM SANTIAGO TO PAPEETE OR SYDNEY WHEN I USE THE GLOBE EXPLORER OR ONEWORLD BETWEEN NOVEMBER AND MARCH . DO YOU KNOWN THERE ARE OTHER POSSIBILYTIES LIKE A HIGHER CLASS . I THINK B.A HAVE WORLD TRAVELER . CAN I USE THIS .OR IS THE ONLY SOLUTIAN TAKING A 5 CONT VIA LOS ANGELES

IF IT IS NOT POSSIBLE I HAVE TO TRAVEL IN THE OTHER DIRECTION STARTING FROM CAIRO IT SHOULD BE DEPENDING OF G.E 34000 OR ONEWORLD:

cairo - dubai - delhi gulf air

calcuta - bangkok cathay air

penang - k l - sydney

if i have miles syd-fiji-tonga-perth

perth - johannesburg

durban - london - brussels
brussels - cairo via barcelona not using this anymore because i live in belgium

or with the oneworld

cairo - london - delhi
calcuta or delhi - bangkok
penang-kl - sydney

sydney -uluru - perth

perth - johannesburg
durban -london -brussels

br - madrid - cairo

is this more or less correct or do you advice to take another milesbased group of aircompany's

thanks whaleshark

Neither of your proposed routes are valid for a GE or OWE. You do not cross either the Atlantic or Pacific in either itinerary. Thus, you are not doing an around the world trip.

These itineraries look like a Circle Indian Ocean trip, i.e. Europe-Asia-SWP-Africa-Europe. On this trip you are limited to six stopovers and a maximum of two per continent. Also, you can only use regular Oneworld carriers, i.e. AY/BA/EI/CX/IB/QF/LA. This doesn't appear to meet your requirements.

There are 2 M class seats available on 29 November from SCL to SYD. Otherwise, you can hope LA opens up more seats as the date gets closer or add a fifth continent and travel to SYD via LAX. The five continent economy fare ex-CAI is EG£12000 (€1738).

whaleshark Aug 7, 2003 7:40 am

HELLO & THANKS AGAIN

THE AIRLINE ITSELF MENTIONED I COULD LEAVE DATE'S OPEN IN THAT CASE I COULD TRY THE 34000M WITH G.E

CAIRO TO SANTIAGO
PUNTA ARENAS TO FALKLANDS RETURN
SANTIAGO TO PAPEETE
PAPEETE TO SYDNEY
IF I HAVE MILES OVER SYDNEY - ULURU- PERTH
OR ELSE JUST SYDNEY-JOHANNESBURG

DURBAN TO LONDON AND BRUSSELS
BRUSSELS TO CAIRO THROUGH BARCELONA THE LAST ONE I'M NOT GOING TO USE
ARE IF I CAN SPARE MILES JOHANNESBURG TO MADRID AND CAIRO .BUYING A SEPERATE TICKET FROM MADRID TO BRUSSELS

HOPEFULLY THIS IS A GOOD TRIP

THANKS FROM WHALESHARK IN A VERY HOT BELGIUM

OK, here is a route that goes where you want to go and qualifies for a Global Explorer 34,000 mile fare.

CAI-BCN-MAD-SCL-PUQ-MPN-SCL-PPT-AKL-SYD-JNB-DUR-JNB-NBO-AUH-CAI

This comes in just under 34,000 miles so you cannot add any other destinations to this ticket without giving something else up.

The MGLOB34 fare ex-CAI is EG£12000 (€1738).

Edited to add:

If you want to drop DUR (you can buy a separate JNB-DUR-JNB ticket for ~€100) you could add AYQ and PER to your Australia stops, viz:

CAI-BCN-MAD-SCL-PUQ-MPN-SCL-PPT-AKL-SYD-AYQ-PER-JNB-NBO-AUH-CAI

tfjim Aug 7, 2003 2:58 pm

ExMo, who flies Nairobi to Abu Dhabi?

ExMo Aug 7, 2003 3:10 pm

The NBO-AUH-CAI flights are on Gulf Air, an allowed carrier for Global Explorer.

whaleshark Aug 11, 2003 7:25 am

thanks again

this routing seems fine to us dropping the durban - johannesburg part and take the flights within australia

just a few questions:

in januari i like to fly from santiago to papeete and beginning februari to sydney
this flights are full in m class
should i take the risk by taking an open date if that is possible and do airlines open some extra seats in this class or can i take for this part a sort of upgrading
(world traveler or so with B.A
in the worst case if everybody says no
i can take a 5 continent through n america to sydney does this flight have stop overs in the pacific ?

greetings whaleshark

hauteboy Aug 11, 2003 11:32 am

According to ITN/Galileo there is plenty of M-class availability on SCL-PPT... I checked a few days in Jan/Feb. You could always break the trip for a day or two in Easter Island if that would help availability.
