DONE4 routing change
Well being in the middle of my DONE4 I decided to change the routing (partly due to change of mind to visit a country, and partly because new routing will get me to WP this year).
So I called QF NA and they said I would have to send my ticket in with instructions what changes required, and they would send replacement back. I wasn't too keen on this, so they said I could go into LAX and get it done at ticketing desk there. So off I went. Even though I was told it would open at 4.30pm it did not. And for some reason the "ticketing desk" was a 'semi-door' at the end of the check in counters in Tom Bradly Intern. Anyway after an interminable wait for help and then for the QF agent to do it (she said as some sectors were on CX she couldn't do it on their system and would have to call CX reservations. Anyway in the end she did it all. I hadn't mentioned the $75 change fee. Not sure whether she just didn't know or because she was only one there and there was a line of people waiting for her and she was hurried, she did not ask or mention the change fee and simply handed over the new ticket. So I got a free re-routing re-issue. I have to say she may not really have understood the ticket rules - I am sure I am on a DONE4 and the new ticket fare code is DGLOB34 - my routing would be illegal on DGLOB34. Funnily she also queried my itinerary. I requested LHR-DXB-LHR straight through (MR and SC run) and she was amazed I was doing this and why - did I realize i would only be in DXB for 1.5 hours. Yes I was - hehe. Anyway, not sure whether this was a mistake or regularly occurs at ticketing at LAX, but they don't seem to know/understand about the ONE fare change fees for re-routing. Just FYI for others. |
