still trying-rtw-please chech it

Hi and thanks to you all I am Plat but I would like to tru for ex-plat.
I have 46,214 -Q- points.
here is my it- in biz class- Bos-mia-lhr-dbx-lhr-bne-chc-syd-hnl-bos.
from bne -Iam gong to the solomons islands on a dive trip for 12 days -I do have time constraints-leave-Bos-10/10/2003-must be in bne by 10/15/2003-will be back in bne by 10/28 must be back in bos 11/4/2003. I have been reading all I can here and hope thisis at least close to a okay plan. Thanks in advance, Sara

1st, there is no lhr-bne direct flight. I would skip the HNL routing given the limited amount of time that you would be there.

Consider this revised routing : bos-mia-lhr-dxb-lhr-syd-bne-chc-syd-jfk (36,356 miles) followed by jfk-lax/sfo/yvr (transcon)-dfw/ord-bos (approx another 5,000 miles)

The syd-jfk flight (QF 107) is only 1 flight and does not count as the 1 transcon in North America. This leaves 3 segments for North America and 1 stopover which can be taken after you return to bos (via a separate bus/train/plane) from QF 107. QF 107 leaves on Sunday 2-Nov and arrives the same day in JFK. A less hectic schedule, IMO since the routing to australia is going to be very long and tiring.

Hi-I made some changes leaving 10/9/-Bos-mia-lhr-dbx-lhr-syd-bne- ayq-mel-ord-bos.
Will this work-I have 46,214 Q-points and I do have nother trip to Bos/vegas in dec.
Thanks, sara

You can fly from LHR to BNE without going via SYD. The flights are with QF via SIN.

Direct flight-- i.e. 1 flight number, so as not to add another continent?

Direct flight with 1 flight number, but *specifically* mentioned in the OWE rules as adding Asia as a continent, even if not stopping over in SIN/BKK.

There is *no* way to get from LHR to Aus without adding either Africa or Asia to your trip.

62N . 5. TRAVEL BETWEEN AUSTRALIA AND EUROPE ON A
63N . SINGLE FLIGHT NUMBER IS CONSIDERED TRAVEL
64N . THROUGH 3 CONTINENTS. SOUTHWEST PACIFIC-ASIA- EUROPE.

Unfortunately, you have to add the third continent.

It would also be possible to make use of all of your 4 Europe/Middle East segments by adding IST. It would be hard going but you could do:-

9 OCT 03 MIA to LHR AA 56 Dep MIA 7:50 PM Arr LHR 9:25 AM

10 OCT 03 LHR to DXB BA 107 Dep LHR 12:30PM Arr DXB 10:30PM

11 OCT 03 DXB to LHR BA 106 Dep DXB 1:35 AM Arr LHR 6:20 AM

11 OCT 03 LHR to IST BA 676 Dep LHR 10:15AM Arr IST 4:05 PM

11 OCT 03 IST to LHR BA 677 Dep IST 5:10 PM Arr LHR 7:15 PM

11 OCT 03 LHR to SIN BA 17 Dep LHR 9:15 PM Arr SIN 5:20 PM

12 OCT 03 SIN to BNE QF 52 Dep SIN 10:20PM Arr BNE 7:40 AM

As an alternative to SIN-BNE you could do SIN-SYD-BNE as follows. The BA 747-400 on SIN-SYD is much better than the 747-300 used by QF:-

12 OCT 03 SIN to SYD BA 15 Dep SIN 7:50 PM Arr SYD 5:10 AM

12 Oct 03 SYD to BNE QF 502 Dep SYD 6:35 AM Arr BNE 8:00 AM

What ticket are you purchasing? Oneworld Explorer? Global Explorer?

sara21 Jun 17, 2003 10:06 am

Hi Dani,I am new at this so I will purchase biz class-I am unsure which one will fit my it and budget; once i fined tuned my it -I was going to call rtw desk.
If you have any suggestions-please et me know, Thanks,Sara

Sara

To include Australia on a oneworld Explorer requires at least a 4 Continent ticket:-

North America
Europe (includes Middle East)
Asia
SW Pacific

As stated above to get to Australia you have to pass through Asia and I'm afraid this counts as a Continent.

The current price for a Business Class 4 Continent ticket ex-USA is $7400. The same ticket ex Canada is C$8900.

I've got a related question.

In theory, you're meant to be able to do it via Africa, e.g. LHR-JNB-PER. But the QF flight JNB-PER is op by SAA so its invalid. In reality, is there any way to go via Africa instead of Asia?
