Upgrades from business to first
 

Yesterday, I booked RTW-ticket DONE4 (June-August) by BA,QF,LA flights and joined BA EC (blue level).
Can I get some upgrade(s) from business to first class for this route: CAI-LHR-NRT-PER-BNE-MEL-AKL-SCL-EZE-LHR-MOW//HEL-MAD-CAI ?

You might only be able to upgrade the BA flights if any at all. I don't know if you need a J fare or if a D one is eligible. However, since you only joined BA, you probably will not have enough miles even when your last BA segment comes along.

If it's miles that you are after, I highly recommend enrolling for a Gold and Platinum challenge with AA (search in that forum).

You could also fit in more sectors within Asia and South America if time is not an issue.

Free upgrades based on your BLUE BAEC? Or paid upgrades? If its the former - forget it. If its the latter, BA's upgrades are based on country of origin where you'll be based. I doubt you'd be permitted to upgrade between EZE-LHR.

i got my first bump from club to FIRST from BA on the way back from miami when i only had a blue card. but i think it has more to do with the check in agents than anything - everytime that i have been numped to FIRST was when i had nice long chat with the check in staff.
