Qantas double standard?
Chose GE over OWE in order to get access to PH for tour of Samoa and Fiji. Now told that unless Qantas issues ticket, I cannot use PH codeshare in south pacific, meaning I need to forego one or the other destination. Qantas will not issue ticket when they are not the first international carrier whereas AA has said they will issue a ticket so long as they fly any route on it. Is this accurate or are we speaking to the wrong Qantas employee? I'm confused as to why rules governing the GE and OWE products are treated differently by member airlines.

I would try phoning Qantas again.
If you think the answer they give is wrong it is always worth phoning again to get a second opinion If you phone out of your (North American) normal business hours, you may be diverted to a call centre some place other than the US, who may give you a different answer [This message has been edited by Mwenenzi (edited 06-06-2003).] |
If you are trying to get AA to ticket your flights, the problem may be that AA does not have a ticketing agreement with PH (noted in the GE Star file).
I'm not sure of the solution other than getting QF or someone else to ticket it or to revise the ticket after you begin traveling. |
On the other hand - since you're doing the booking through a travel agent, he/she should be the one doing the negotiation/solution and not left up to you.
I do understand your dilemma. However upon reviewing your past postings about this particular route between AKL-APW, it *can* be issued by AA. Your travel agent should know what to do. If he/she doesn't, then perhaps you ought to be looking for someone who knows what they're doing. [This message has been edited by Guy Betsy (edited 06-07-2003).] |
