20-segment limit experiences?

Now that we've been restricted to 20 segments for a month, would anyone who's ticketed under those rules care to comment on their experiences? Has anyone found any generosity in applying the rules, or invariably a firm cutoff after 20 total coupons?

The question about whether or not ground segments (open jaws) count against the total is still burning, too.

The CX version of the rules is explicit on this: "Maximum 20 flight segments are permitted for entire journey".

So the 20-segment limit includes the intercontinental segments as well? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Can you buy extra segments?

What part of "Maximum 20 flight segments are permitted for entire journey" don't you understand. Seems clear to me that only flight segments are counted and you get a maximum of 20.

didn't seem as obvious for the intercontinental legs question on a previous thread; the rules say the # of free flight segments per continent but not the intercontinental segments. But now reading the rules it looks that way. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Makes a huge difference then on a xONE5 or xONE6 if it limits 1/4 or 1/3 of your flights. Guess I'll just have to go with a xONE4 then.

Gosh, guys, did *everyone* have a bad weekend? I can read the rules. The rate desk can read the rules. Sometimes they don't read them the same way the passenger does. Please note that my question was not "what are the rules?" but "has anyone encountered any generosity in applying the rules?" Or animosity, for that matter.

It's like anything else. You get someone who has done 5 of these, you might get it through. If you get someone who did 5 today, probably not. In the former circumstance, however, just don't reroute it because they will probably put you back in line and limit the ticket.

And my weekend was fine, but long. I think I left my house about twice a day, mostly for coffee and bagel runs, and was otherwise involuntarily sitting in front of a computer. Thanks for asking. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
