Correct. If you do a Platinum Challenge (which you must call AA to arrange in advance) starting after (I think) 1 July 2003 then you need to get 10000 status miles (8000 actual miles in D) to achieve Platinum. These can be on any OneWorld airline. You will then be Platinum until February 2005. To retain Platinum after that you will need to get 50,000 stautus miles in calendar year 2004 which must include 4 sectors on AA metal. You can only do a Platinum Challenge once.
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">For booking OWE-ticket ex-CAI: Can I use local BA-office (MOW)?</font>
No. Well, if you talk very nicely to them they may help to set it up for you, but the actual ticketing has to be done in CAI and MOW will get no credit for it, so I doubt they will help.
The contact in BA Cairo is Mrs Nabila Sobhi, and her fax number is +20 2 574 7674 (although today the line is out of order - they say they are trying to get it fixed ASAP).

BA CAI fax number above is still out of order - use + 202 579 9806 instead.

Thanks for advice about CAI-office.
If I'm going fly out on june 18-20, when I must inquiry CAI-office for the route?
I sent the trip-inquiry a few minutes ago to CAI-office of BA through local MOW-office. I hope to see answer soon.

talking to the BA Cairo office this morning, and the agent apologised that it would take some time to get our itin priced - 'for some reason, we are having a lot of rtw ticket enquiries recently !' http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
