Claiming old miles
 

Hello,

I left 4 months ago for a RTW trip (MONE5). Before leaving I 'susbscribed' to AAdvantage but I did not register all my flights since then, merely: CDG-LHR, LHR-CAI, CAI-LHR, LHR-SEZ, SEZ-NBO, NBO-LUN, VFA-JNB.

Stupid of me but I forgot all the time to do so. I still own the coupons and baggage tickets though.

Now that I'm in a more developped country (South Africa), do you think I have any chance to succeed if I ask to be credited for these flights ? Who should I contact anyway ? BA (all flights were BA and codeshares) or AA ?

Asking does not kill but I would appreciate feedback from previous experience if there is any 'common' problem with this.

If you subscribed to AAdv you should claim with them.

As long as you subscribed prior to flying the sectors you should have no problems claiming the miles as long as you have the boarding passes. If by 'coupons' you mean the ticket sheets out of the standard IATA ticket book you get then that's not enough - you need to prove you flew the sectors - hence the requirement for a boarding pass.

You should have no problems.

What alect said is right. The time limit on AAdvantage is 12 months after you took the flight (but not before you enrolled). This is more generous than some other schemes which limit it to 6 months, although some do allow you to go back a month before enrollment.

Indeed I was talking about the boarding pass (though in one of the flight in East Africa, I was given a strange sheet of paper that didnot make it but I have all my baggage tickets)
