AONE Rules and Suspended Flights
Before I pose this question to AA, I thought I would pick the brains of a few of you: At the moment, BA has suspended LHR-NBO flights; it looks like about 2-3 weeks out for the time being. We are traveling in 5-6 weeks, and for NOW the flight is showing as operational for our dates (including NBO-SEZ continuation). I am concerned that as the dates get closer, BA may lengthen this suspension, and due to complicated connections, out-of-pocket tickets, and need-to-be-prepaid accomodations we will have a last minute scramble to get where we need to be when we need to be there. Not to mention the fact that my children feel unsafe traveling thru Kenya with the recent gov't warnings (our connections require at least an overnight).
So, I have thought about completely re-routing and simplifying things, by flying LHR-MRU and having Mr Fish meet us there. Then we can pay our own way on to JNB on SAA or AirMaur. Now, here's my question: Exactly when does our RTW end? We began in JNB last August, so technically, when we land there, we are done, correct? But our RTW shows us ending MRU, so is this legal? And what are the chances of us squeaking out one last segment JNB-CPT, where we need to catch our flight home (since we never technically landed in JNB)? Anyone care to comment on this? Robin |
