best FF program for eco flyer

I am *A Gold considering to switch to One world. I am flying mostly between US and Europe (UK, Germany) in discounted Eco. What is the best program to join to get the miles counted and to get some status? Looked into BA and Quantas but it would take me over 10 round trips in dicounted eco to get silver on BA!

If you are flying BA then AAdv is o good for you as most of your flights are translantic and exempt.

On QF FF JFK-LHR in disc eco - you would need 7 round trips to achieve silver. If you are going to Germany (two extra sectors from/to LHR then fewer trips).

I think you are missing an "n" and a "t". If you are flying ba transatlantic, then aadvantage is not good for you

yes - my fault - i think it was the last hurried post before leaving work (and avoiding the LA traffic).

On the other hand it would make far more sense to fly transatlantic on AA if you are flying discounted economy - MRTC gives AA the clear advantage for economy customers. In that case BA membership would be useless to you (no miles accumulation on AA flights) and you might consider AAdvantage as your best OneWorld option. You will also have the advantage of direct flights to both UK and Germany. Status accumulation is still a problem though.

Do remember that BA is also going to giving only 25% miles for discounted economy tickets starting 1 July (on both the BA and AA programmes).

I thought someone would suggest this by now... AA's Challenge!
