Can I do this for AONE3?

Hi,

I'm thinking of the following trip, can someone let me know if it is okay?

CAI-LHR-DXB-LHR-SFO-(A few more U.S. Segments)-HKG-SIN-HKG-KUL-HKG-LHR-CAI

Also, does anyone know if the CAI-LHR segment in F is 150 tier points on BA?

Thanks.

You may have a problem going to DXB as that violates the two segment maximum between LHR and various countries that include the UAE and Egypt. BA recently rejected such an attempt by another FT'er.

Are you aware that the rules change (limiting total trip to 20 segments) and the prices go up ex-CAI on 15 April?

Thanks. I wasn't sure about the LHR-DXB-LHR portion. I read that you cannot go to the middle east twice and I didn't think CAI was part of that. So maybe I misread the rules?

Thanks for the advice on the price increase. I posted that question elsewhere so I better get moving. Also planning to start this on Easter weekend now.

Unterwegs, do you mind e-mailing me with your agent's information? I'm looking to start a RTW in 14 days. Thanks. e-mail address is [email protected]

except there is an exception in the rule (which I cannot find with my BA's OWE rule), you can only do either LHR-CAI-LHR or LHR-DXB-LHR but not both.

If you want to get miles instead of visit, try IST.

Cheers!

The other thing to bear in mind is that it seesm tha taxes ex-CAI are very high compared to those imposed from other countries. There are other posting ont his issue, so don't be surprised if the published CAI fare jumps a lot once the route is confirmed.

Happy flying

I have looked through my links, and can't find it, but there is a website somewhere that has a dropdown list where you choose a country and it tells you the tax base. If someone has it, please post it.

The tax table by country is here.

A listing of the various tax codes without rates can be found here.

That's it. Gracias.

I just picked up tickets in CAI for a fellow FT'er and myself. He figured out the taxes on his ticket and they came within EGP100 of what BA charged. I have yet to do mine but I expect they will also come out close to the BA charge. Taxes should be fairly consistent regardless of where you ticket. Egypt does impose a tax on issuance but it is only a few hundred Egyptian pounds.

BTW, the taxes were not itemized on either ticket.

Thanks for posting those links ExMo. I've just remotely ticketed a AONE4 in New Zealand but on checking the taxes seem quite high. Wasn't sure where I could get the info from and was about to post a question asking for it. Gotta love FT!

?How much did the AONE4 cost ex-NZ? Was it cheaper then ex-AUS?

It hasn't hit my credit card yet but it will be around $7k. My rough calculations are that it will only be a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than an owe ex-Australia. The fares ex-SWP are really not that great a deal anymore - I am only doing this as I have an existing owe ending in AKL later in the year and don't really have the time (not to mention money!) to buy another one ex-CAI.
