ex-UK routing issue
I tried the following routing, AA DXB ratedesk rated it OK but when the US RTW desk tell me the price, the agent (superviser) said it is invalid and void my reservation. I would like to see are there any way I can ticket it , maybe with other carrier.
Here is the itn: MAN-LHR-ACC/o-LHR-ORD/o-USA/o-HKG/o-ASIA/o-HKG/o-LHR/o-CAI/o-LHR-MAN She said per rule by Going to Ghana I am entitled two inter-con departure and arrival but no exception of the "1 international departure and arrival at country of origin". I questioned that I am only transfer and this cause problem with ex-UK going to Africa since only BA fly to ACC and only via LHR. She said "Yes, you cannot goto Ghana and Cario ex-UK, this is the rule". So, any way to get around it? I know I can do ex-CDG for US$500 more, but want to know if I can do this without the $500 extra and problem with my schedule. THANKS!! |
I'm confused. Is it not still the case that OWE tickets are significantly cheaper in the Eurozone than in the UK?

Sorry, I forget to tell you that I am going to get MLONE4.
Here is the rate converted to USD: UK (1319pound): $2066 Europe(E2400): $2550 (so it is 25% more!!) Ireland (E2099): $2230 ==== I had another agent told me the Ghana portion is OK (he consider transfer is NOT departure and arrival) but once I come back to UK from HKG (HKG-LHR), the trip MUST be finish . (i.e. cannot use Europe segment after HKG-LHR). I think the (effectively) 2 segment left in europe doesn't worth $500 Any insight? |
You have 3 international arrivals to the country of origin. There are some allowances for 2, but I don't recall seeing anything allowing 3.

Easy fix ... originate in AMS. If you must start in Manchester, buy a separate ticket MAN-AMS. I think this solves all of your problems (and the agent is absolutely correct about the country of origin restriction, this is a problem for lots of tickets, not just OWE fares).

If you still want to start in the UK because of the lower price you could use Finnair or Iberia and connect in HEL or Spain instead of LHR for one of the three LHR connections. Otherwise you likely also should be able to find other lower priced countries to start. Lots of other discussion here about this.

I suggest you originate in Ireland for £1427 (about 8% > UK), plus about £60 for Ryanair MAN-DUB return, and eliminate these country of origin problems.

I tried to search a direct flight between asia and BCN, but failed. Unterwegs, may you show your suggested route ? |
