Is This a Valid Circle Pacific Itinerary?
Hi All,
Is the following a valid OW Circle Pacific Intinerary? AKL-(CX)-HKG-(CX)-SIN-(CX)-HKG-(CX)-SFO-(AA)-JFK-(AA)-LAX-(LA)-SCL-(LA)-GIG-(LA)-SCL-(QF)-AKL I think including JFK adds to the fare, but can you do two transcon flights on this ticket or is it like the OW Explorer rules? Thanks! |
I think the CP is limited in how many areas you can fly to (3), number of free stops (4?) and going in a sngle direction hence AKL-HKG-SIN wuld be backtracking.
Also, you'd have to pay extra for going past the west coast of N. America. Also, I think it's either Asia or S. America (which you have to pay extra for). Not both. |
I'm not sure I concur with many of Terenz's points. In my view (based purely on reading the rules, never having tried to do it) the main problem with this is that the Circle Pacific fare has different prices based on total mileage tiers. The highest tier is the CIR29SA routing (which includes S America). Unfortunately your routing is over 36000 miles, so you are way over. I believe this is effectively how they stop you going to the East Coast.
