One world first timer question about it?

Hi, Iam trying to set up it for my first ATW -BU class:
here is my it at present-Bos-LHR-PER(stop) -DPS (stop) Nrt-Lax Bos
In Perth I will be flying to Broome for a week so Iam not sure if I could use it as a stop and do Per-Broome -Darwin -DPS?
Also my dates would be Late Pm Oct 15 - Nov 16 or 17th
DPS stop would be for 12 days?
I did search but still left me with a few questions- Thank you in advance, Iam Plt on AA at present maybe this trip may get me to Exp Plt , I will have over 35,000 by Oct!! Again ThanKs again!!Iam PLT because of this group!!

Presumably you're doing OW Explorer. Nothing wrong with your itinerary so far except that the CX trip planner doesn't show Broome-Darwin. You can do it via PER, of course.

If you're looking to maximize miles, you'd want to use all 4 segments perhaps as PER-Broome-PER-SYD-DRW-DPS. DRW-DPS is between regions and doesn't count as a segment in either.

You're allowed to purchase two more segments if you want to accumulate still more miles and paying for the privilege is worth it to you.

Stopover duration is of no concern. You have a year to finish the trip, and can stay in one place most of the year, if you want to.

If you're not aware of the Cathay downloadable trip planner, grab it from their site; it's a useful tool for trip planning, although it doesn't say anything about OWE rules. <http://www.tarom.net/ba/explorer_jan_03.pdf> looks to be a decent summary of rules.

It looks like a routing of BOS-LHR-SIN-PER-BME-ASP-DRW-DPS-HKG-(NRT)-LAX-BOS would work for you. The NRT stop is optional as you can do HKG-LAX direct on CX. This would be a 4 continent OWE ticket.

Also, you can save about US$1,500 (assuming the U.S. dollar doesn't continue its decline) if you originate in YYZ, i.e. do YYZ-BOS-LHR...LAX-BOS.

(Editied to add the ASP transit as JohnAx noted that the BME-DRW segment is not on a QF affiliate. You could also go back to PER then to DRW or do BME-MEL-SYD-DPS.)

Thank you-John ax and ex mo, I think this might work-Bos-LHR-Sin-Per-broome-syd-dps-
hkg-lax-bos.
I would be able to make my dive trips at Broome and DPs and still make a couple of stops.
Thanks for all you help!!, Sara

even if you want to goto NRT, I think you can still do DPS-HKG-NRT-HKG-LAX. You have 4 segments in Asia.

About EXP, is the "35000" you currently have Q-points or Q-miles? If they are Q-points, you can easily get EXP with your OWE, otherwise if you goes for miles system, you may need to do some turn-arounds to get more miles, such as LHR-DXB-LHR-IST-LHR, etc.
