Replacing AA number with CX number on BA flights

I have a couple of flights on BA where I mistakenly entered my AA number instead of my CX number. I have spoken with BA res a couple of times, and gotten my CX number put in, however it seems that there are two FF number fields in their system. They are unable to remove the AA number from the first occurrence of the FF number field. The CX number appears in the second occurrence. I have verified this also by displaying the itineraries on checkmytrip.com where it does show both numbers.

Need advice on what I can to ensure CX credit for these. Can the AA number be removed at check-in? I dont want it in there at all, yet the agents seem unable to get it out.

Why are there two FF fields in the BA system?

This is an EXTREMELY annoying feature of the BA system. I have had similar problems in the past. I was never able to get the first number out once it was in, and it took a number of phone calls and faxes to the manager of the local BA Executive Club to get them to transfer release the points so that I could get them credited to another scheme. You should make sure you keep all your boarding passes and tickets until you have the miles in the scheme you want.

Insisting that the check-in agent makes the boarding pass show the FF scheme that you want helps, but it almost certainly won't make the points go there until you go through the faxing/phonig routine.
