CX & QF flights to JFK
On the HKG-JFK (stop in YVR) and SYD-JFK (stop in LAX) are these counted as one flight if you check in to the final destination thereby leaving me with 1 transcon available in the NA ?
Thanks |

As number_6 said, yes, both are considered as single flights they both are the same continuous flight number.

you will get 1 boarding pass, and the 'great circle' miles.
in fact, i once tried to book this as 2 segments and get 2 BPs (hence 1 more segment and a bit more miles). the cx agent refused to do it for me |

I was planning on getting either AA or BA miles unless there's something better. You would need to book SYD-LAX for one date and then LAX-JFK for another. After booking and ticketing call and have the LAX-JFK leg moved to the same day as SYD-LAX. IMHO it is better to ticket as one leg (SYD-JFK) and then use your transcon to get back to LAX. I am doing-: SYD-(LAX)-JFK JFK-SJU SJU-SLU SLU-SJU SJU-JFK JFK-LAX LAX-LHR Believe it or not I'm doing SLU-SJU-JFK-LAX-LHR all on the same day. I must be mad! |

Saves on hotel rooms and food http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif but sometime you just have to do it 'cause you can http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif Boy will I ready for the BA J class bed |
