Current OW bonuses
 

Are there any current bonuses for flying a certain number of OW carriers or flying to a certain number of continents?

If I remember correctly, there was one last year if you flew 4 OW carriers on one itinerary.

The only one I can think of is the AA-Cathay one but that's just for number of flights.

I did a promo a while back where you got bonuses on BA for visiting continents. I did 4 and got something like 30,000 of the OLD BA points, ie about 300,000 miles. It ran about this time of the year so you may be able to dig around on the BA site for it...

AA has a bonus for travel to Europe, South America, and Japan. If you are planning to fly first or business class, the bonus is quite generous. There's also a bonus for economy class except for the lowest fare classes.

If you are going to fly CX transpacific, might as well book on www.cathay-usa.com and score 5,000 AAdvantage miles.

Wow, that's quite a promo. I got 100,000 AA miles two years ago for six continents and thought it was pretty good.

Yeah... those were the days... mind: I was flying in F. Lucky if you get a cabin bonus these days...

Wasn't the continents promo in 2000? Better yet was the 1999 carriers promo - fly 5 OW carriers and get 100,000 bonus miles (managed to get all the flights flying only in 2 continents). Someone here got 7 100,000 mile bonuses (I just got by with 3).

And my neighbor and I both got (for $1,750):
1) AA

4) CX

Could have been. I vaguely remember the carriers one but didn't participate (we were flying VS back then).

I got AA, BA, and IB on a single rtw I was doing anyway. IB caused a lot of trouble, but eventually they came around and simply credited my account for the points (their equivalent of 100,000 miles), but not for most of the individual flights.

Yes, it was - that summer, I think you had 90 days from June 15 to Sept. 15 or thereabouts.
