Re-routing a RTW
 

Ok so I have a MONE4 through a TA in australia and issued by QF.

I want to change the routing and TA advises me only their own $10 fee plus the difference in taxes will be applicable.

However now TA advises me that QF also want me to pay the difference in fare, that has gone up since my original ticket was issued.

Is this correct? TA is still investigating as the fare rules don't state this. However they tell me that if QF don't budge, I'll have to pay the difference.

Any advise on this would be appreciated.

My TA tells me that the rules on this are quite clear, and apply to all published fares...

If you have already started to use the ticket then you do NOT have to pay any extra if the fare has changed. For MONE4 there is of course the USD75 (or equivalent) reroute charge, and the differences in taxes (in principle, though noone has ever tried to charge me the tax difference).

If you have NOT already started to use the ticket then the airline is entitled to charge you the fare difference.

I completely agree with the above post. I had not started a OWE from JNB. I wnated to change my first flight date, and was told that I would have to pay the new fare which was twice as much as the old fare

This is not my experience.

Earlier this year I bought a AONE4 ex-JNB issued by QF for departure in December. I got it at the old price before the massive price hike. A month ago I went to QF in London to have it re-routed. Despite the fare having more than doubled ,the only charge I paid was £25 for the reissue. This is not a OW charge but a charge levied by QF for "Professional Services". If my memory serves me correctly you can have unlimited changes up to the date of departure.

This is where your problem is. If you change the date of the first International segment then the fare is recalulated.
