OW Itininerary PPT/S. AMer assistance

We are doing Bora Bora for our wedding, etc. and I want to visit someplace besides PPT (and I'm cashing in miles).

I have tried/eliminated Australia, and Asia, and have now started working with south america. To get the decent use of miles (14-19 miles threshold), I need another carrier. Here's what I have:
dfw-santiago (AA) santiago-PPT (LAN), PPT santiago (LAN).

At santiago the second time I would like to stay a few days, then I am completely open, I have tried everything with Iberia, but everything includes Spain, or they don't goto SA, I'd go to central Amer. but no flights get me there.

I want to do rio, but I seem to be stuck in finding a 3rd carrier.

Any help is appreciated, I have seen a few of you have done PPT, so your advice is helpful.

I assume that DFW-SCL-PPT is only charged as the miles direct DFW-PPT as there is no stopover in SCL.
If this is the case the only flights I can think of are looking at getting up to the Carribean and finding a BA flight between two ports in the West Indies. Such flights used to xist but I don't know if they still do.
Iberia also had flights from MIA to Central America but again I'm unsure if they still do and if you are allowed to transit the US after originating there.
If a transit in the states is OK then you could at least do Vancouver and get CX.
DFW-(scl)-PPT-SCL-(jfk)-YVR-DFW should come under the 19000 mile limit if scl and jfk are transits

DFW-(scl)-PPT-SCL-CCS-SJU-SDQ-DFW

Lan Chile fly twice a week Santiago-Caracas,
American fly Caracas to San Juan daily,
Iberia fly daily San Juan to Santo Domingo,
American fly Santo Domingo to Dallas.

Iberia also fly MIA to San Jose,Costa Rica and Managua among other places in Central America.

Quebec, you absolutely rock! That's one the AA guys coudln't crack, but you did, I was already to jettison this whole excercise and just do the PPT deal, you have saved us!

Lots of flying, but a much more adventerous trip!

You should take the opportunity to visit Easter Island. As for Rio, LAN Chile has frequent service from Santiago, via São Paulo, and there is also an LA code share on RG (no good for oneworld purposes).
