Credit to QF or AA

Ok I have a question for those of you on the OneWorld board.

My cousin has the following itin:

SFO-LAX QF 3152 Operated by AA
LAX-NAN QF 3026 Operated by Air Pacific
NAN-LAX QF 3025 Operated by Air Pacific
LAX-SFO QF 3199 Operated by AA

Cousin has no status with any OneWorld Carriers and I'm debating whether I should have her credit to AA or QF. She's a leisure traveler who doesn't really have any allegiance to any carrier. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I would definitely recomend AA - overall their reward levels are far lower.

Despite what AA's web site says (no AA mileage for QF-coded flights operated by non-OW carriers), anecdotal evidence (reported by Spider here) suggests that QF-coded flights operated by Air Pacific do indeed earn AA miles the same way regular QF flights do. Thus, your cousin may want to sign up for a Gold (or Platinum, depending on whether her ticket is full Y or discounted) challenge with AA. You may want to refer her to the Fewmiles' Unofficial Guide to AAdvantage for details on the Challenge.
