Round the World (first time)
Planning a RTW trip for April. Looks like this.
BOS-YQB-JFK (week layover)JFK-LAX-SYD-OOL-ADL-MEL-SIN-HKG-ICN-HKG-NRT-LHR-CDG-LHR-JFK-BDL Couple of questions: Will this itin work? Doing this in Biz class heard reports of people getting downgraded on OW RTW tix? IS this true? Booking-BA has a RTW number should I use them or AA? Any other tips a tricks would be apprciated! Will finish AA Plat challange next month.:-) Thanks. |
Should work. If you want to add mores miles, and are flexible and have the time, I'd add a few longer segments in Europe/Middle-East such as LHR-DXB-LHR and LHR-HEL-LHR, an additional segment such as MEL-PER or even replace SYD-OOL-ADL-MEL-SIN with SYD-AKL-MEL-ADL-PER-SIN. Like wise, you can do longer trips in Asia such as replacing HKG-ICN-HKG with HKG-DEL/BOM-HKG.
Not sure how many sectors you're allowed in N. Am. but LGW-DFW-BOSwould be nice. Downgrades should only come if you are standing by for D inventory and it doesn't clear. |
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, this is all work related and I have appointments so no extra milage runs this time.
So would you book with AA or BA? |

I did not know that. Thanks. I will go ahead and call the AA RTW desk.
Appreciate the help. |
It sounds like you have already decided to use AA for your RTW trip. Good choice. They are 100 times better than BA. I have used RTW repeatedly (currently have 3 active itineraries) and had to deal with both. I frequently have to explain things to the BA agents and they still get it wrong. It is just to much hassle to educate them so stick with AA, especially since it is your first time.
