ow lounge access

I know it possible to use any OW lounge when travelling on F/J on any OW airline, but cannot find this information anywhere on the OW website. Does anyone know where this fact can be found?

Well not sure what status you have on what airline but if you have Plat on AA you have access to all OW business class lounges and EXP have access to all First class lounges.

Access is granted regardless of the class of service you are flying in.

I suspect this kind of info would be in the FF pages of the airline u affiliate with.

The reason it's not on the OW site is that lounge access based on class of service flown is not a oneWorld benefit. It's a benefit each airline offers to its own premium class passengers. There is no coordination of policies in that regard within oneWorld, though they are all pretty similar because the entire airline industry is pretty similar in that regard.

Lounge access based on elite FF status with any OW partner is on the site, though. You probably found that part. For anyone else: click Benefits at the upper right. There's an overview of lounge access at the bottom of the page. For specifics, click on the airline where you have elite status (not the one you're flying on). There will be a pull-down menu for its elite levels. Choose yours, click "Show me" below the menu, and it's there.

so if i have no status on OW but am flying F/J on a OW airline, i only have access to the F/J lounge of that particular airline.

so it's different from *A where if you fly F/J of any *A airline, you get to go to the F/J lounge of any *A airline regardless of status?

thanks everyone, especially efrem, for clearing up matters.

have always thought that OW policy re F/J passengers was the same as *A - i.e. F/J passengers of any *A airline get access to all *A lounges (barring select Silver Kris)

must say that i've never been turned away from BA/QF or CX lounges when flying F/J on AY though...

my experience is that you do not need elite status if u r flying premium class to access all lounges.

there is a settlement system between the airlines. the airline you fly will usually prefer you to go to their own lounge if there is one, for obvious reason.

Not so with AA:

So, can anyone tell me, if AA won't let me in, and I'm AA Plat, flying their planes internationally (to FRA), in Coach, with a domestic stop, before and after, in ORD, is there another OW lounge that will take me - both in ORD and FRA?

pegasus8228 Dec 19, 2001 9:54 pm

lisa,

u r entitled to use AC in ORD, both ways.
they are wrong if they don't allow you in.
print out the web-page on the rules and bring with you if you are unsure.

alternatively, you can go to BA's lounge but it is at another terminal.
i had no problem accessing these lounges all the time (but i also have CX/BA's emerald)
