Points on OW fare in the UK?
As you all know, points are very hard to come by on cheapo fares on OW for UK resident members. BA has only started allowing any points and even then youget a miniscule amount.
If you use the Y class OW round the world exlorer fare, do you get booked in a class that gives you full points? Stephen |
You could always join the Qantas frequent flyer program instead. They are removing all residency restrictions when the changes come in on Sep 15. They give full points for all BA classes.

First of all, hi, I've just joined FlyerTalk and this is my first post.
Anyhow, I'm another dissatisfied UK resident occasional OneWorld flyer--only occasional in large part because of the restrictions on earning miles on BA/AA. However (following advice on r.t.a.), I'm now thinking of joining Qantas's FF programme, in advance of a BA/QF RTW trip this Xmas (itinerary: LON-LAX-SYD-CHC-EZE-SCL-EZE-LON, with perhaps LIM thrown in, too). As a result, I will probably end up member of three OneWorld programmes, with varying amounts of miles in each: AA (c. 20,000); BA (a bunch, mainly from non-flight AirMiles, such as credit card and Sainsburys points); and now QF. My questions: a) can I merge any of these miles in one account? b) can I combine miles from different OneWorld programmes to get rewards? c) any other advice out there? Thanks in advance Jon |
