Question on RTW in First
Hi Folks
I am planning a RTW in Sept, hopefully in First. Will I get the extra AA elite Q points and 50% bonus for flying in First on all OW airlines? Thanks & Good Luck James ------------------ London UK. AA EXP Hilton HH Gold |
For those sectors where you are booked in A class and fly first you sure will!! Watch out for flights were first is not offered, you will be booked in business so the elite q-points bonus is reduced to 25%. Also, any flights that are one class (e.g. American Eagle) will be booked in M class so the maximum points you can get will be 50% of the actual q-points (subject to AA's 500 minimum rule) and for some carriers (e.g. CX & IB) you will get nothing.

also, you do not get Q for BA transatlantic flights (need to fly AA, or AY/IB/EI)

Considering all of the above, why not get yourself a biz RTW instead? You can always use upgrades to 1st for trans Atlantic segments and use BA biz beds for Europe to Asia/Australia depending on how many continents you are planning on visiting.

Hi Pegasus;
You wrote and for some carriers (e.g. CX & IB) you will get nothing. So if I pay for a 1st class RTW are you saying I will get no miles from Cathay? Good Luck James ------------------ London UK. AA EXP Hilton HH Gold [This message has been edited by Noctilux (edited 07-28-2001).] |
If you do a 1st class RTW, you'll get full miles for all carriers, except if you take BA over the Atlantic Ocean.
