Help, my travel agent is confusing me!
I've used this travel agent for over 15 years and she has been great in getting me cheap tickets and even going around the rules sometimes. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
But here is my problem. I am trying to issue a 3 cont. RTW starting in BKK. She is telling me that for the U.S., I can only have 6 sectors, 3 STOPOVERS, and no back tracking! I remember fellow FTers saying that the 3 Stopover rule is gone, and that you can back track. Reading FewMile's web site doesn't show those rules. Can anyone confirm this for tickets starting from BKK? My travel agent checked with BA in HKG to get the information. |
just call AA's rtw desk to make reservation, then have your agent ticket it
|
How long after reservation does it have to be ticketed? The thing I like about my travel agent is that she reserves it for me and tickets it at the last minute in case of schedule changes to the 1st leg of the RTW ticket.

ex-NA (zone5/6?), 7 days before 1st segment
ex-other TC zones, till 1 hour before the 1st segment ask the agent to make sure they keep u the reservation (sometimes they set u a ticketing deadline) |
bagold - please advise if your agent is using SABRE CRS. If she/he is, then I'll let you know what to look up to check latest fare rules.
You may backtrack within a continent. But not backtrack from say Asia-Europe-Australia. [This message has been edited by Guy Betsy (edited 07-22-2001).] |
Pegasus, thanks for the information.
Guy Betsy, I am not sure if she uses SABRE. If she is, how does she pull up the fare rules? Thanks. |
If she uses Sabre the entry is:
N*/OW EXPLORER The only stopover restriction is that only 2 stopovers are allowed in the continent of origin. |
