some other EXPLT benefits
as a new EXPLT member (finally received my 3rd emerald card http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif and have the time to read the EXPLT handbook.
a few benefits are quite useful to many people (didnt see #1 in fewmiles' official guide yet -- but i might be just careless) -- at least unknown to me, though ueless for me this year 1. comp' HH Gold, Comp' Hyatt Plt 2. an interesting idea, AA card does not get you into AC, but in theory you could get into BA/CX/etc's lounge. but it seems that it explicitly listed there only "international travel" (i suppose AA sefl-imposed this to protect the AC revenue). wonder if anyone tried to get into BA lounge flying domestic. (these are rare situations as the lounge lcoation may prohibit you from doing so in PHL the BA lounges are quite convenient, but there was no one guarding the door when i was there, so i couldn't even test) [This message has been edited by pegasus8228 (edited 07-14-2001).] |
1. Maybe I should list this benefit too.
2. I think you are correct that it is very difficult to get into non-AA oneworld lounges on domestic zone travel because of the lounge locations. But does it really matter for you, when you have two other oneworld Emerald cards at your disposal? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif FewMiles.. ------------------ FlyerTalkers' Resources on the Web: http://fewmiles.tripod.com/ Unofficial Guide to AAdvantage: http://fewmiles.tripod.com/AA/ Unofficial oneworld Info Desk: http://fewmiles.tripod.com/oneworld/ |

i just raise this as an academic question. in fact, i have to flash my other card to get into AA lounge. -- i dont need the HH/hyatt this year either, but next year i will since i am switching to starwood the advantage for me is that the Flagship Lounge (MIA/BOS) are always very quiet when i am there. (though in ORD it is a lot more corwded) -- i travel mostly in morning/noon for domestic flights, while all the international flights leave in evenings. for selfish reason i should hope AA keep the rule very strict, but it is nice the loophole opens for (ONLY) my friends here |
I use my CX-Gold (1w Sapphire) to use any AA lounge in the USA. And then use my AA-EXP (1w Emerald) card to use to get into the CX First Class lounge at HKG.

i just want to try using AA card to get into BA lounge for domestic flight, and see what happen. (from the word it seems that is not allowed)
