One World RTW and Booking Class
Can someone remind me how the current booking codes work for One World Global Explorer for Economy, Business, and First?
Also how are these differet booking classes recognized by AA Qualifying Miles and AA Qualifying Points? Thanks in advance! |
You get 1 point per mile flown in full fare Y-class (which is often more expensive than discount biz), 1.25 points for every biz mile flown and 1.50 points for every 1st class mile flown.
If I recall correctly then biz RTW fare is "D" but I could be mistaken. Why not check topics on this forum back in May/June this year when there was a lot of talk about RTW 100K runs and all fare classes were covered quite thoroughly. |
There are many experts on this subject but ... if you are talking about oneworld Explorer (continent count-based), economy is M, business is D and first is A.
A and D are no problem in earning miles but M is the tricky part. I think if you could just list up the carriers you are going to fly with, then it may be easier to identify which 'M' miles would count toward AAdvantage. Is (mileage-based) Global Explorer still on sale? |
Hmm. Suppose I have a 1st-class OWE ticket and I'm taking an AA Eagle flight with only Y seating. Is the bookking class therefore 'M,' which means, for example, that I'd get no BA EC tier points, even though it's a 1st-class OWE ticket?

wideman, I had that problem having a Business(D)-class ticket but on the AA Eagle flight they booked me in M-class. As I didn't needed these 15 Tier points I didn't make a call to BA but I guess that you would be able to make a point and still get those points.
