OneWorld Awards

Anyone have any experience using the OneWorld awards? Trying to plan a mulit-city trip to Europe for the summer, but struggling to meet the restrictions of connecting only twice thru the same city. Or rather, to meet the restriction AND keep from flying Iberia! ;-) Wondering if AA will allow any exceptions to the rules...

Well, first you may want to find out if BA counts LGW and LHR as the same city?? Persumably, yes, but airlines are airlines!!

BA has some connections at MAN.

There's always EI in DUB too.

Plus you may be able to book yourself onto AA code-shares on SR and SN thus opening up connections in BRU, ZRH and GNV.

Just some thoughts ...

Depending on the cities you want to fly to, BA has fairly cheap econ fares. If you have AA "bumping" vouchers (what they give you for volunteering to take a later flight if yours is oversold), you can actually use them to purchase BA tickets at any AA city ticket office. With these vouchers, the tax (sometimes as much as 30% of the cost of the ticket) is waived, so this makes it a very good deal. So you could use an award ticket combined w/purchased tickets.
