BA Zone Awards From/To(?) the U.K.
I'll be living in the Netherlands due to a temporary move until the end of May, and the zoned awards from the U.K. (for 10K miles and up) seemed awfully appealing. My question is whether or not travel must ORIGINATE in the U.K. Can I redeem these awards for travel originating, for example, from AMS to the UK? Thanks!

What programme are you referring to? Each airline has its own BA zone award requirements.
If you're a member of BA's Exec Club based in the UK - then , no. You must beginning your travel from UK only. But other airlines' FF like AAdvantage or CPlus, do permit travel from AMS to UK. Though sometimes it requires slightly higher award requirements [This message has been edited by Celestar340 (edited 01-16-2000).] |
I'd be redeeming AADvantage Miles for the Zone award.

Yes you can. But check with AAdvantage. The last I heard was that extra miles were required for an award GOING to UK instead of starting FROM.

I know this is off topic, but your temporary residence in The Netherlands may offer some interesting possibilities with BA EC.
BA EC work hard at cultivating customers based in The Netherlands and as such have some interesting offers: ie. Make 10 return AMS-UK C class returns and receive a free Concorde return. I have a second EC account in Holland especially for this sort of promotion. You may like to keep an eye on what they are offering! Nick |
