cp posting - generous beyond belief
ok, i need to know if this has happened to anyone else.
i had a three segment trip schedule on cp from lga-yyz-yul-jfk from 10/29-11/1. i use aadavtage e-upgrades(since that's all there is right now) on the first two flights, but specifically asked for no ff #'s to appear on the boarding pass(in oderd to submit them later in different programs). the third flight which was an aa eagle code share i had my aa # put in at the airport, because based on what i learned here; 1. the other flights had fallen out of the system so they were safe from posting and 2. cp code share count as aa flights in canadian plus, but as cp in aadvantage. upon my return, i send out boarding passes and a copy of my receipt to both canadian plus and executive club for an individual segment to be posted to each account. one week later, my addvantage account has two of the three flights posted; one of the upgraded flights as well as the eagle code share(as cp!). i am horrified, and immediately fax off a letter asking for the upgraded flight to be deleted. they said that would be fine and they would take care of it. today (8 days later), i check my cp account on line. they have not olny posted the one flight i wanted them too, but the other two flights on the ticket as well. in addition, the eagle code share is posted with its cp flight number as purchased. so far 5 segments for 3 flights. not bad!! is this commonplace? if so, more power to them. if not, should i delete this post after a few of you respond and read this? i can't wait to see what ba is going to do. believe me, for safe measure i'm flying up to canada again just to ensure getting ba credit. 3x100k is definitely worth it!!! |
Yes, this is common. Airlines frequently have trouble posting just parts of itineraries, even when you only mail in the stub that you want.

Ionman, I wouldn't get too attached to those extra credits. There is apparently an area at CPlus "audit" desk (perhaps with just one lonely person) that looks for double-crediting errors. They usually turn a blind eye to class of service bonus errors on CP flights but double-flight credits may come back to haunt you.

well, that's good (and bad) to know. i was hoping they're like delta. i got credit for a sn trans-atlantic round-trip twice; once as sabena & once as delta.
i still am puzzled as to why this happened in the first place. my letter very clearly stated which flight i wanted to have posted to my cp account. this one lonely soul obviously doesn't spend a lot of time reading. now i wonder how long it will take someone to figure this out. also, how long does ba take to credit something from cp via letter? i sent them a letter the same time as cp, and the us exec club is based in minneapolis, versus cp in vancouver. anyone have any insight? i'm still taking the other trip regardless. |
